Inspired by African art, fashion and textiles, Nando’s Pakenham is a design which sees a warm and earthy palette of colours, materials and textures engaged to tell the story of Nando’s African heritage.
Natural materials such as terracotta brick work, lime plaster, rattan and aged brass bring warmth to the design, inspired by abstract patterns painted by African women onto clay houses using natural pigments from plants and clay. Repetition and scale are hallmarks of the Nando’s aesthetic, incorporated here in the way of large detailed screens made of rattan, which offer privacy and ambience whilst referencing patterns commonly used in African textiles.
