What will cause pain in one individual will not be painful for another. The majority of our patients report no pain or discomfort. An aligner will place pressure on a tooth/teeth to move the tooth/teeth. The pressure is most noticeable when the aligner is inserted for the first time and will usually last for one to two days.
Everyone will feel pressure for the first day or two of wearing a new aligner. We recommend changing to a new aligner at night. This will mean you will sleep through the initial feeling of pressure.
