This site is dedicated to providing information on female pelvic floor dysfunction. Significant effort has been taken to ensure the information is presented in a manner that is simple to follow and easily understood. Female pelvic floor dysfunction involves bladder problems, urinary incontinence, genital prolapse and faecal incontinence.
These problems are very common in the community with nearly 50% of women who have had children experiencing prolapse and or incontinence.
Before you can understand the abnormal female pelvic floor you must be clear on the normal pelvic floor anatomy. To aid you in this, these pages have been dedicated to Your Pelvic Floor, Vaginal Prolapse and Urinary Stress Incontinence. The causes of these problems and how they can be prevented and treated will also be discussed.
