In 1990 Maura McGill added to a successful healthcare practice and management career spanning 24 years by embarking on a career in the law. She specialises in health care law and is widely regarded as a leader in this field in Australia. Her healthcare experience includes working in hospitals and private country and city practice, six years as the Medical Officer managing a major medical trauma centre at a BHP steelworks, and 5 years in private practice in occupational health.

As a lawyer, Maura has worked for leading law firms including as Partner at Clayton Utz and has worked as in‑house counsel for the Health Care Group of Mayne Nickless Ltd, Health Care of Australia.
