Jamie grew up on the Western Darling Downs on a sheep, cattle and grain farm, but has lived in Norman Park for the last 10 years. Before graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science, Jamie was an airline pilot with Qantas Airways, flying the Boeing 747 on international routes. He still has a keen interest in aviation and enjoys travel with his family.

He is a science fiction fan and has an interest in woodworking. Jamie has three children, all at local schools. While family is his main focus, he enjoys working with cars and has restored a classic mini.
